The Big Task

The Marketing and Sales Manager leads a team of coaching professionals specializing in marketing and sales to deliver exceptional guidance and influence on industry-leading practices for Nexstar Network members. This role focuses on managing a team of high performers, ensuring their activities align with Nexstar’s standards, while driving innovation, member satisfaction, and team accountability.

Key Tasks

  • Primarily focused on coaches associated with the marketing and sales side.
  • Responsible for creating annual budget for coaches assigned.
  • Responsible for holding coaches accountable to hitting the budget while maintaining the highest level of integrity for our members.
  • Conduct weekly One to One meetings with Managers and Coaches
  • Department Thought Leader keeping company Mission, Vision, and Goals in mind always.
  • Responsible for oversite of department related coaching, training, and other deliverable materials.
  • Conduct Annual Reviews.
  • Review and approve all expense reports.
  • Review and approve all schedule requests for team.
  • Hiring and onboarding of new team members.
  • Responsible for meeting ALL Team deadlines
  • Ensure Individual team KPI and monetary goals are exceeded.
  • Communicate information from leadership team
  • Attend/conduct manager level meetings as established by the team.
  • Plan and Facilitate Weekly Team Meetings to create a strong team culture.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that supports Nexstar’s guiding principles.

Required Skills: 

  • Strong marketing and/or sales management background with the ability to troubleshoot areas of opportunity and develop plans for improvement.
  • Ability to coach individuals and groups in a multitude of situations: phone, video meeting, live, etc.
  • Ability to have tough conversations when necessary.
  • Strong ability to deal with a wide range of personalities and emotions.
  • Mentor mindset at all times and a self-manager.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong financial management background
  • Proven record of accomplishment meeting sales goals.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and/or sales management.
  • Knowledge of residential service and repair industry (i.e., Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical) preferred but not required. 
  • Qualified candidates will ideally have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or other related area. 

Performance Metrics:

  • Minimum annual retention percentages for company at large.
  • Minimum annual onsite/workshop revenue defined by budget.
  • Adhering to budgeted expenses defined in budget.
  • Other metrics that may be assigned to the position from time to time

Travel Requirements: 

  • Up to 20%.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to conduct full-day presentations, speaking and on-foot interacting with a room of participants.
  • Must be able to set at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
